The San Diego Youth Aquatic Center (YAC) is nestled in a protected cove on Fiesta Island in the heart of Mission Bay Park, San Diego, California. The beautiful facility is surrounded by sandy bayfront beaches with access to the Pacific Ocean. The Center is available for youth groups and can accommodate special events for up to 250 people.
At the Youth Aquatic Center, the possibilities are endless. You can learn and have fun sailing, canoeing, rowing, kayaking, swimming and windsurfing. The Center's facilities include a sandy beach perfect for swimming, a boat ramp, overnight dormitories, meeting and program rooms, a kitchen and open-air courtyard, and marine biology labs.
Planning your aquatic adventure at the YAC is a breeze. Our fleet of boats, including aluminum canoes and rowboats, sit-on-top and touring kayaks, sailboards, 12- and 15-foot sailboats, and catamarans, are at your disposal. Simply use the 'Reservations' link to the left to secure your YAC facility or equipment.
The City of San Diego operates the Fiesta Island Youth Campgrounds adjacent to the Youth Aquatic Center. The camp holds up to 250 campers in 25 campsite clusters. Each site includes a barbeque, fire pit, and picnic table. A centrally located restroom has drinking water and rinsing showers. An amphitheater and bonfire ring are excellent for large group campfires.
