First Aid / Adult CPR / AED

This course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies.

This course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older.

Topics include:

  • Adult CPR and The Emergency Action Steps
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Prioritizing Care
  • Use of Barrier devices … Bleeding Control … Tourniquets
  • Conscious and Unconscious Choking, Burns and Shock
  • Heat and Cold related emergencies and Sudden Illness
  • Injuries to muscles, bones and joints

Participants should:

  • Be at least 15 years of age (exceptions can be made by training coordinator)
  • Be able to complete strenuous activities (such as bending, lifting, kneeling, etc)

As a result of the course, participants will complete:

  • First Aid and receive a 2-year card.
  • CPR and receive a 2-year card.

This course DOES NOT provide: First aid merit badge or Infant CPR training

NOTE: CPR or First Aid may be taken separately but the cost is the same for all or part of a class. The exact start time of First Aid varies. CPR typically lasts 3 hours.

Class Size is Limited to 20 students and fills up quickly!
